Live suffers connection issues days before NXE launch

Service down for maintenance in preparation for New Xbox Experience

Xbox Live has suffered connection issues over the weekend, with the service down for maintenance this morning only days before the launch of the New Xbox Experience.

Over the weekend many users reported being disconnected from the multiplayer and online service, while the Major Nelson blog tried to keep users up to date on the problems with multiple postings.

The service has maintenance scheduled for 10 am GMT today.

"As a result, Xbox Live and the My Xbox section of Xbox.com will be unavailable, and the Xbox forums will be in read only mode (you won’t be able to post.) The remainder of Xbox.com will be available with limited interruptions," wrote Larry Hyrb on the site.

"This service maintenance is in preparation for the new Xbox experience which will be available this Wednesday."

The New Xbox Experience is a completely new front-end for the popular Xbox live service, and introduces Avatar's as well as other new features to the Xbox 360's online community.
