Limbo wins best Nordic Game honour

Minecraft, Ilomilo, Axe in Face and Vikings on Trampolines also win in Malmo

Playdead Studios' Limbo has been crowned Best Nordic Game, beating competition from Remedy's Alan Wake, DICE's Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Dead Nation from Housemarque.

The title was honoured at the Nordic Game event in Malmo, Sweden, last night, following handouts totalling 6 million DKK for local game development projects.

Swedish Southend won Best Nordic Children's Game for Ilomilo, Blue Carrot took Best Nordic Handheld Game for Axe in Face and Minecraft was awarded Best Artistic Achievement.

The inaugural Indie Sensation award - voted for by the public - went to Vikings on Trampolines, developed by D-Pad Studios in Norway.
