LEGO Universe

Blocky game powered by RakNet's engine.

“We used RakNet on LEGO Universe from the beginning and it has always been one of the core pieces of the project,” said Ian Guthrie, senior programmer at NetDevil. “As LEGO Universe is an MMO, we handle more connections than most games, and we encountered no problems or need to make any modifications to handle hundreds of simultaneous connections. We also utilized RakNet’s object replication system to great effect in order to easily and efficiently update objects in the world.”

“RakNet is optimized for any kind of networking scenario,” said Kevin Jenkins, CEO of Jenkins Software. “Massively multiplayer games are especially demanding so we are pleased it scaled as designed, without any significant problems. Furthermore, NetDevil did an excellent job optimizing their gameplay network traffic.”
