Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today announces the launch of Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole – The Videogame , based on the upcoming 3D fantasy family adventure film from Warner Bros. Pictures, in association with Village Roadshow Pictures. The game is now available for Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system, Wii™ and Nintendo DS™.

In Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole – The Videogame , players take on the role of a young owl eager to earn the right to be called a Guardian, a sworn protector of the owl kingdoms. Armed with steely battle-claws, players can take the fight against evil to the air with in-flight melee combat never before experienced in a videogame. Set in the visually stunning world of Ga’Hoole, players can soar free above a vast and varied world, with locations both adapted directly from the film and pulled from the lore of the book series.

Based on the film directed by Zack Snyder and the bestselling book series Guardians of Ga’Hoole by author Kathryn Lasky, Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole – The Videogame allows children of varying skill levels to customise and control their owl on a thrilling journey across mythic terrains. Younger players can easily master flying with the easy pick-up-and-play controls, while older players will enjoy the deeper combat systems that allow for advanced fighting combos and battle techniques.

Legends of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole – The Videogame , was developed for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii™ by Krome Studios and for Nintendo DS™ by Tantalus Media.  The game is rated PEGI12+ and available at major retailers on Xbox 360, PLAYSTATION 3, Wii and DS.

Pictures presents, in association with Village Roadshow Pictures, a Village Roadshow Pictures Production, an Animal Logic Production, “Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole.”  Zack Snyder directed “Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole” from a screenplay by Emil Stern and John Orloff, based on the Guardians of Ga’Hoole novels by Kathryn Lasky.  The film was produced by Zareh Nalbandian, with Donald De Line, Deborah Snyder, Lionel Wigram, Chris deFaria, Kathryn Lasky and Bruce Berman serving as executive producers.  “Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole” features the voices of Helen Mirren, Geoffrey Rush, Jim Sturgess, Hugo Weaving, Emily Barclay, Abbie Cornish, Ryan Kwanten, Anthony LaPaglia, Miriam Margolyes, Sam Neill, Richard Roxburgh and David Wenham.  The film opens nationwide in theatres and IMAX on September 24, 2010.  It will be presented in 3D and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros.
