Last Chance to Pre-register Online for Career Discovery: Games

Fun and Games and Giveaways Ready to Take Center Stage at Career Discovery Event

SEATTLE, WA, March 20, 2007 - As time ticks down to take advantage of the lower-cost online pre-registration rate for Career Discovery: Careers in the Game Industry, the reasons to attend continue to add up. Career Discovery: Games, a day-long event designed for middle and high school students considering a career in the game industry, will be held on March 24th in Bellevue Washington at the Interlake Performing Arts Theatre. The $35 online pre-registration fee is all-inclusive, covering the seminars, lunch and opportunities to win door prizes. After March 20th, the registration fee rises to $50 and will be available on-site.

Features of Career Discovery: Games:

A wide range of speakers from well-known game developers, such as Gas Powered Games, Flying Lab Software and Valve. These speakers -- artists, programmers and company executives and more -- bring a diverse portfolio of experience and advice to share with the audience. Event attendance sponsorship support from Vancouver Film School, allowing all children the opportunity to attend regardless of means. Sponsorships remain but expire today along with the online pre-registration rate. Awesome door prizes, including a brand-new Nintendo Wii game system, Wii controller, Microsoft Xbox 360 games, Supreme Commander PC games and posters, T-shirts and more.

The Career Discovery series is a sequence of day-long events with a strong focus on middle school and high school students. The Career Discovery Series will feature informative sessions from leading industry experts from a wide variety of backgrounds, including the games and film industries as well as careers related to writing, art, and animals. Attendees will be able to interact face to face with speakers and sponsors to learn more about their career options. Evergreen Events is hoping to inspire and motivate young people to not only consider their career paths and critical decisions they will face along the way, but to follow their dreams and passions. Evergreen Events is working closely with Washington School career counselors to help design career-minded programs that are educational for students, parents, and teachers alike.
