One of the most anticipated titles for Christmas 2004 is set to make its European debut at the Game Stars Live consumer games show in London this September, it has emerged, with Pro Evolution Soccer 4 playable for the first time at the event.

The title - which is due out later in autumn, following the launch of Japanese precursor Winning Eleven 8 this August - will be playable in one of the "bear pit" areas at Game Stars Live, which runs from September 1st to 5th at the ExCeL exhibition centre in London's Docklands.

A special tournament will be run throughout the show for the title, which isn't the only new game that Konami will be debuting at Game Stars Live; the latest title in the Dancing Stage / Dance Dance Revolution series, Dancing Stage Fusion, will also be there, along with Singstar rival Karaoke Stage.

In related news, handheld device firm Gizmondo, which is planning to launch a wireless-enabled handheld games console and mobile entertainment device of the same name in the UK later this year, has announced that it will be showing off the system in public for the first time at Game Stars Live.

"Our participation coincides with our pre-launch activities in the UK and our wish to be seen at high-profile, quality events," according to Gizmondo UK managing director Carl Freer. "We are looking forward to showcasing Gizmondo for the first time in the UK."
