Koei has announced plans to expand its Toronto studio, increasing the number of staff to between 150-200 to become the largest of the company's overseas development subsidiaries.

Koei Canada will focus on developing titles for the worldwide market with a particular focus on North America and Europe, and is already working on two new games.

One of these is PlayStation 3 title Fatal Inertia - described as a futuristic aerial combat racer, it's the first original Koei game to be developed outside of Japan.

Koei's UK office is based in Hertfordshire, and the company also has operations in Japan, the US, China, Korea, France, Taiwan, Singapore and Lithuania. Koei announced the expansion of its Singaporean studio back in February.
