Kingdom Hearts breaks four million sales milestone

Disney Interactive has announced that Kingdom Hearts, its collaboration project with Japanese publisher Square Enix, has now sold over four million units worldwide, with the bulk of its sales in North America.

The game, which was developed by Square Enix and includes characters from Final Fantasy games as well as traditional Disney characters, has sold over two million copies in North America, along with 1.2 million in Japan and 820,000 in Europe.

It's unsurprising, given the critical and commercial success of the game, that Square Enix has already started work on a sequel, and a Game Boy Advance title is also currently in production, with both new titles expected to be shown at E3 this May.
