Killzone 3 tops Bulletstorm in UK charts

But 81 per cent of EA shooter's sales go to Xbox 360

PlayStation 3 exclusive Killzone 3 has beaten multiformat title Bulletstorm to the top of the weekly UK software charts, as Kirby's Epic Yarn and de Blob 2 fail to crack the top 40.

Sony's more established brand won out in the battle of the first person shooters this week, with Killzone 3 debuting at number one. Epic Game's Bulletstorm had to settle for second place, with the release of Killzone 3 clearly affecting its performance - with only 15 per cent of sales occurring on the PlayStation 3.

Despite a busy week of new releases, including THQ's de Blob 2, Nintendo's Kirby's Epic Yarn, and Square Enix's Tactics Ogre there were no other new releases in the top 40, except for the World of Warcraft Battlechest compendium at number 24.

Thanks to retailer discounts Call of Duty: Black Ops is still riding high in the charts at number three, with FIFA 11 at number four and Ubisoft's Just Dance 2 at number five. There has been no upturn for Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 though, which debuted at number two and this week falls to number seven.
