Kayak Interactive acquires Chasma

Mobile entertainment publisher Kayak Interactive has acquired the assets of Chasma Interactive Publishing, based in New Hampshire, to expand its portfolio with a range of new products.

As well as Mastermind, Whac-A-Mole and Kawasaki, which have already been released, the deal includes forthcoming titles Slingo - based on the popular web game - and TV tie-in Poker Superstars Invitational Tournament.

"The existing Chasma products and the additional products in development were a perfect fit with our market strategy and assessment of consumer adoption," said Keith McCurdy, president and CEO of Kayak.

"We will continue to support and distribute the existing released products in the channel, as well as bring our publishing and distribution capabilities to bear on the launching of Slingo and Poker Superstars."

Tom Dusenberry, CEO of Chasma, added: "The team at Kayak understands mobile gaming and the power of our licensed properties and products.

"We are excited to be working with them, and are confident that their additional distribution and publishing capabilities will make all these products a great success in the marketplace."

The move follows a merger two months ago which saw Kayak joining with Swedish mobile games publisher Synergix Interactive. Kayak's European distribution network includes more than 40 carriers and distribution partners.
