Kalypso Media expansion

Relocated their North American headquarters to Ridgewood, New Jersey.

Ridgewood, NJ, May 19, 2010 – Kalypso Media, a privately-held, global independent developer, marketer and publisher of award-winning PC and console games, is pleased to announce the relocation of its North American headquarters to Ridgewood, New Jersey, located in the Greater New York City area, and the promotion and hiring of several key members of the company’s North American team.

As part of an internal reorganization of the company’s North American operations, Global Managing Director and co-owner Simon Hellwig has been appointed as acting President, while fellow Kalypso Media co-founder Stefan Marcinek is now the company’s Treasurer. Former Director of Business Development and Publishing, Mario Kroll, has been promoted to Vice President and will execute strategic direction and direct the day-to-day operations of the company’s North American presence.

Kalypso Media USA has also hired industry veterans Ted Brockwood as Head of Public Relations and John Tullock as Head of Sales for North America. The team is rounded out by the addition of Michael De Rienzo, who joins the growing team as Executive Assistant, with recent experience at MTV and The Comedy Channel.

“Kalypso’s continuous global growth necessitated our restructuring and relocation of our North American operations. We are delighted to have such an experienced and highly motivated team on board in our new office, and I am certain that this will prove a positive milestone in the further expansion of the Kalypso Media Group,” remarked Simon Hellwig.

Ted Brockwood has been a member of the interactive entertainment industry for more than a decade, serving as both an editor and PR professional. He has contributed to high profile console hardware and software launches, and worked on the PR campaigns for dozens of PC, handheld, mobile and console games from a variety of top-tier publishers and developers.

John Tullock comes to Kalypso Media USA with more than twenty years’ experience in retailing, manufacturing and publishing. He most recently served as National Account Manager at The American Game Factory, where he headed sales efforts for all of North America, and has demonstrated a consistently strong record of sales growth. Mr. Tullock also holds a M.B.A. in Finance from Western New England College.

Mario Kroll has worked in the games industry since 1995, when he founded the game portal Kroll led cdv Software Entertainment USA's marketing, public relations and product licensing for several years, bringing over 50 video game titles to retail and dramatically expanding that company’s brand recognition in North America. Mr. Kroll has also advised diverse organizations on information technology and business process improvement on behalf of global consultancy BDO Seidman, LLP
