KALYPSO APPOINTS HALES AND OPENS UK OFFICE

Kalypso Media Appoints Jonathan Hales as UK MD and Opens Leicester Headquarters

Kalypso Media GmbH today announced the appointment of Jonathan Hales as UK Managing Director and unveiled Kalypso Media UK Ltd. headquarters in Leicester. Hales brings seven years experience from Codemasters, most recently as Vice President and General Manager of Northern Region Europe.

Founded in 2006 by Simon Hellwig and Stefan Marcinek, two German games industry veterans, Kalypso Media is a publisher of entertainment software, with a focus on mid price PC games, and follows a mantra of outsourcing distribution and development to prevent permanent fix costs.

"I'm delighted and excited to be setting up Kalypso Media UK Ltd, which promises to be challenging, but extremely rewarding also," commented Jonathan Hales. "My aim is to set strong foundations for the company and to develop relationships with partners in the UK and around the world from which growth will become organic. We want to be self reliant and offer a 'win win' business model for all our partners."

In 2007, more than 100 programmers and graphic artists, working for seven exclusive third party developers, are developing products for Kalypso. Furthermore, 30 sales specialists and key account managers are actively placing Kalypso product on German retail shelves.

The appointment of Jonathan Hales and opening of the UK office underlines the company's strategy to establish a network of small, yet effective, publishing departments in all major territories. These offices will be run as independent companies empowered through a strategy of local management, allowing a great deal of flexibility to market needs.

Kalypso Media UK's first batch of quality PC releases include Hollywood Pictures 2, Star Assault and Universal Boxing Manager, all due for release in September and Campus, due for release in October.
