Just Dance takes UK No.1 spot

Ubisoft's Wii dance game ends Modern Warfare 2's nine-week run

Ubisoft's Just Dance for the Wii is the best-selling game in the UK according to data from GfK Chart-Track, knocking Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 off the top spot after nine weeks.

Sales of the game jumped 114 per cent as every other title in the top ten suffered a decline in sales over last week. The title is the first number one for the French publisher since Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 in March 2008.

Last week Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said sales of Just Dance were beating expectations and the company expects the game to sell one million units before the end of the financial year.

Electronic Arts' sequel Army of Two: The 40th Day debuts at number four and is the only new release in the top ten.

The full GfK Chart-Track top ten follows:

  • 01 Just Dance (Ubisoft)
  • 02 Wii Fit Plus (Nintendo)
  • 03 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Activision)
  • 04 Army of Two: The 40th Day (EA)
