Johnny Minkley joins Eurogamer Network as Editor of Eurogamer TV

Brighton, England, April 6 2006: Eurogamer Network - the publisher of the UK's most popular consumer video games website, Eurogamer.net - is today pleased to announce that Johnny Minkley has joined the company as Editor of Eurogamer TV.

Johnny assumes responsibility for all aspects of Eurogamer TV, including original video content creation and production, the acquisition and publishing of third-party content, as well as business development.

Johnny joins Eurogamer from Intent Media, where he edited British trade magazine MCV. He currently also presents the video games section for the Jo Whiley Show on BBC Radio 1. Prior to the role at MCV, Johnny edited ComputerAndVideoGames.com for Dennis Publishing.

Eurogamer TV has already been a huge success for Eurogamer Network. Serving more than 100,000 videos in its first month, the service will move from simply hosting game trailers to include TV-style content created under Johnny's guidance later this year. Advertisers on Eurogamer TV have already included some of the biggest names in the business, such as Electronic Arts, Square Enix and Activision.

"Johnny's decision to take the Editor's role on Eurogamer TV is great news for the company, and we're very excited about the future of the service," said Eurogamer Network's Business Development Manager, Patrick Garratt. "We are committed to video as one of the key parts of our offering going forward and we firmly believe Johnny has the experience, drive and vision to make Eurogamer TV the definitive destination for games-related video content on the internet."

"The potential for Eurogamer TV is spectacular, and I'm very pleased to be joining Eurogamer Network as the site's Editor," said Minkley. "We have the opportunity to take the whole concept of video content for games to a completely new level. Only the internet can offer programming on demand in this way, so it's perfect timing to get involved with the UK's leading publisher of video games websites."

Johnny can be contacted via johnny@eurogamer.net and will be available for meetings at the E3 show in Los Angeles next month. Eurogamer TV will have two film crews at the event.
