JOGO Media wins exclusive marketing contract – Online game "Sport1 Soccer Challenge 2008" will stoke soccer fever for Euro 2008

February 29, 2008

(For immediate publication)

The buzz around 2008 stemming from the upcoming UEFA European Soccer Championship also heralds a transcendent year for JOGO Media: the In-Game Advertising expert is partnering with Sport1.de, Europe's largest online sports news portal, to handle all advertising sales for its new online game "Sport1 Soccer Challenge 08". The game, a sure win among sports fans, will go online on April 15, 2008 at www.sport1.de.

Ismaning/Dusseldorf/New York, NY, February 29, 2008 - 2008 is set to be an outstanding year for all soccer fans, but the playing field isn't the only place where the action will be: "Sport1 Soccer Challenge 08" is an MMOG (massively multiplayer online game) that will bring soccer, sports and gaming fans of all ages together to battle it out live at www.sport1.de. JOGO Media, expert in In-Game Advertising solutions, will handle the profit-driven marketing plan for the new game as Sport1's exclusive partner - and this is one reason why Andreas Hoffmann, Head of Sales and Marketing at Sport1, is already convinced that the game will gain immense popularity.

"The advertising industry is always very interested in opportunities surrounding major events. With JOGO Media we have found an experienced partner who can optimize the marketing of the exclusive ad space within Soccer Challenge 08."

From banner advertising to virtual billboard in the stands

Since the coveted ad space is limited, only a select group of companies will have the chance to advertise within "Sport1 Soccer Challenge 08". Sponsors can communicate via banner ads on the side panels and the billboard in the stands as well as logo and advertising message placements in the user menu and within the game's environment. "All ad placements will remain visible throughout the entire duration of the game," explains Hendrik Volp, Business Development Manager of JOGO Media. "This gives our sponsors the ideal opportunity to build strong awareness among their soccer-focused target group with minimal distraction or divergence loss."

Free entertainment for soccer fans in just a few keyboard strokes

The MMOG was developed by Vienna-based company Greentube, who expect it to be as big a hit among players as its predecessor "Ski Challenge", if not bigger. "Sport1 Soccer Challenge 08" is an Advanced Casual Skill Game: it is easy to play, but the final victory or defeat depends on the player's skill. As in real life, the harder the player's self-created avatar trains, the greater his chances are of winning. A match takes place every two weeks on the virtual playing field where participants play off against each other for the chance to win material prizes. Players only need to download the game - no additional fees or hardware are required to play.

On-field action for guaranteed media resonance

A media campaign worth 2 million Euros will be implemented to ensure the fast spread of online soccer fever across Germany, a key soccer fan base within Europe. 120 TV spots have been planned. In addition, large-format posters and premium online spots are set to make this one of the top games of 2008. "We expect at least 500,000 net gamers - individual participants who will play online once or more," says Andreas Hoffmann of Sport1. "This is very attractive territory for potential in-game sponsors."
