Japanese hardware sales fall after holiday spike

Nearly all platforms drop by around 50% as Vita still outsold by PSP

Japanese hardware sales saw a huge drop last week as numbers continued to shrink in the post holiday slump.

Nearly every platform saw a drop of around fifty per cent, meaning relative positions in the charts were unaffected.

The PlayStation Vita has now dipped below a weekly figure of 20,000 for the first time since launch, whilst the 3DS managed to remain just north of 100,000. The PSP shifted 22,538 units, reports Andriasang.

No Vita games made the country's top twenty, which is largely dominated by Wii and 3DS titles, although the PSP takes first place with Super Robot Taise OG Saga Masou Kishin II.
