Jamdat extends partnership with Activision

Tony Hawks and Gun franchises secured

Global publisher of mobile games and content, Jamdat, has signed a new multi-year, multi-title co-publishing agreement with Activision. The new deal includes the next Tony Hawk game and recently released Wild West adventure, Gun.

Jamdat has an existing relationship with Activision, having already published Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater: 3D Mobile Edition and the Tony Hawk Underground titles. The skateboarding franchise is one of the most successful licenses in the industry, generating almost USD 1 billion in worldwide retail sales to date.

Gun was recently released on current generation consoles and is expected to appear on Microsoft's next generation Xbox 360 before the end of the year. Although no concrete details regarding the content or gameplay mechanic of the mobile version have been released so far, Jamdat will publish and distribute the title exclusively, on a worldwide basis.

Dave Anderson, Senior director of business development for Activision commented: "We are very excited to extend our relationship with Jamdat. In addition to continuing our success with the Tony Hawk franchise, we believe that Gun will be another great game that we can bring to mobile gamers worldwide."

"The combination of Jamdat's wireless entertainment expertise and Activision's popular titles has proven to be an unbeatable combination," added Minard Hamilton, EVP of sales and marketing for Jamdat Mobile. "Jamdat and Activision have built an extremely successful mobile gaming franchise with the Tony Hawk series and we look forward to building an equally winning franchise with Gun."

Jamdat distributes its games and mobile content through a growing selection of wireless carriers around the world. Game availability depends on the wireless carrier and individual handset model. The company offers a Game Finder service, available by visiting the Jamdat website.

The extension of the publishing agreement with Activision will undoubtedly boost Jamdat's extensive portfolio of licensed and branded products, generating a substantial revenue stream across multiple territories. The company recently announced its Q3 financial results, showing a net profit of USD 1.4 million and an estimated USD 78-80 million for full fiscal year earnings.
