Ink Media launch

Edinburgh-based PR consultancy opens doors, headed by journo Dave Cook.

For Immediate Release

Edinburgh - Friday 19th June 2009: Ink Media, Scotland newest public relations consultancy has today opened its doors to new clients following a highly successful six month trial period. Focusing largely on assisting iPhone application developers across the UK, as well as wider digital media and gaming companies, the firm has achieved great results for a wide range of independent developers.

The consultancy specialises in assisting independent, small-to-medium developers, bedroom coders and outsourced studios achieve heightened media exposure for their projects. Ink Media aims to support these developers in a bid to help them prosper in what is currently a volatile games industry.

Managing director Dave Cook said, “Many new developers simply do not have the capital to seek media assistance from a large PR firm and this is damaging their chances of competing in the market, particularly the often saturated App Store, which is where many new coders get their first footing. We aim to help innovative developers truly deserving of success beat the odds and stand out from the crowd and this involves to realistic pricing schemes and a forward-thinking approach to new media.”

Recently, Ink Media has helped several Scottish coders achieve success including Digital Goldfish, creators of Bloons iPhone, which reached the top spot in the US paid apps chart. The firm has also helped Car Jack Streets by Tag Games peak in the top ten in the UK and US charts and Modulo by Electric TopHat has reached featured app status and is enjoying increasing sales and critical acclaim.

The firm marries tried and tested PR methods such as press releases, features and interviews with regulated Twitter feeds, blogs, social network groups, Wikipedia records, video channels and viral web campaigns.

Dave Cook added, “While web based utilities such as Youtube and Wordpress are not new, they can prove highly time-consuming for many developers, particularly those with teams as small as two, working hard towards strict deadlines. Essentially, we take the pressure off so clients can focus on generating superb IP and maximise their potential returns at launch.”

Ink Media is now looking to speak with new potential clients across the UK, that are active in the iPhone or wider digital media industry. Interested parties should contact Dave Cook direct via the details below to discuss their IP and to receive a quote. The firm is also looking to speak to publications and websites about the work it does and the state of play in the industry today.
