Alan Welsman to oversee product management and marketing

Mobile content provider InfoSpace has appointed former PlayStation marketing boss Alan Welsman as vice president of European product management and marketing.

Welsman has more than a decade of experience within the games and mobile industries, previously taking on the role of marketing director at Sony Computer Entertainment. Most recently, Welsman was head of entertainment at Orange where he was responsible for the company's mobile music, games, film and video divisions.

Welsman will be responsible for managing Infospace's mobile media product and content strategy in European markets. Infospace, which is headquartered in Washington state, has acquired two European companies in the past 12 months, and other recent appointments include Kieve Huffman as VP of content and Stephen Davis as president of mobile media.

"I am delighted that Alan has joined the team," said Davis.

"His knowledge of entertainment content across multiple formats will be a tremendous asset as we continue to expand our mobile content library."
