Independent web sites embrace Motioncast technology

Press release issued: 25 October 2004

Motioncast, Lawton eProducts' flexible rich media advertising solution, is being embraced by independent web sites as they praise the format as one of the most innovative and effective tools on the market. Although Motioncast is one of many online advertising solutions currently available, mainly due to the increased adoption of broadband, few can deliver the level of flexibility within a single package.

THQ, the world's fourth largest games manufacture has recently utilised Motioncast technology launching its new title Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War on a number of independent gaming web sites., one of the leading gaming web sites in the UK and is actively embracing Motioncast. Rupert Loman, Director of Operations at commented: "As the web gets increasingly saturated by all the creative out there, you need something special to make your product stand out. The Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War campaign is among the best we have seen, making appropriate and effective use of new eye catching video streaming technology."

THQ UK has put its largest online media spend to date behind the Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War campaign highlighting its confidence in the online ad format. Hugh Benyon, web manager at THQ commented: "Response to the campaign has been phenomenal, with hosting sites and community forums buzzing about the quality of the creative and the movie. Motioncast has proved to be the perfect tool for showcasing Dawn of War's stunning graphics, and we're proud to be the first games company to have utilised it as part of an online campaign."

Dean Donaldson, Lawton's product manager, underlines the products key attributes: "Motioncast offers a new way of controlling online advertising when a campaign is under way, without sacrificing the creative flexibility of rich media ad formats. One of the major benefits to host sites is that audiences can interact with the advertiser direct without even leaving the site."
