Imagine Dragons invest in esports agency RektGlobal and Team Rogue

Members from award-winning band joined by music producer Steve Aoki in ownership of esports team

Multi-platinum musicians Imagine Dragons are the latest investment partners in esports agency RektGlobal.

In addition to a stake in RektGlobal, Daniel Platzman and Wayne Sermon of Imagine Dragons join Grammy-nominated producer and DJ Steve Aoki as co-owners of the agency's Las Vegas-based esports organisation Rogue.

This is not Imagine Dragons' first foray into the world of esports. In 2014 the group wrote the song Warriors for the League of Legends World Championship, where they performed at the Seoul World Cup Stadium in South Korea, an event streamed to over 27 million viewers.

"We love gaming and esports and have been looking for new ways to contribute to this community for a long time-but we never found the right fit until now," said Mac Reynolds, manager of Imagine Dragons.

Founded in 2016, Rogue is a well-established organisation particularly within the esports scenes of Overwatch, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and H1Z1, with recent expansion into Rocket League, Rainbow Six Siege, and Vainglory.

"The Imagine Dragons team is going to be an important part of Rogue's future and the future of Las Vegas," said Derek Nelson, Rogue CEO and co-founder. "As we continue to build championship-winning teams and build the city as the premiere destination for American esports, the influence of Imagine Dragons and Steve Aoki will be the driving force behind it."
