IGN Entertainment gets new VP of content publishing

US videogames website IGN Entertainment has announced that senior publisher and editorial director Peer Schneider has been promoted to the role of vice president of content.

Schneider will take responsibility for IGN's network content strategy and functionality, as well as overseeing the corporate aspects of content creation and production. He will also work on cross-promoting IGN's brands and integrating gaming, lifestyle and entertainment content.

After graduating in journalism from Berkeley, Schneider joined Imagine Media (now operating under the name of Future Networks) as editor-in-chief for N64.com.

He was a founding member of Snowball.com, which later became IGN Entertainment. Schneider was voted one of the top 10 media influencers on the Internet in Adweek Magazine.
