Ideazon Technology is Putting U.S. Soldiers On the Fast Track in Combat Training Simulations

VAUGHAN, ON (Aug 10, 2005) - Ideazon Inc., creator of the Zboard, the world's first keyboard to deliver fully customized functions for PC gaming, today announced that its custom keyboard technology is now being used by the U.S. military during training simulations to help troops prepare for combat duty.

Ideazon's fully customized Key Command Unit is now being included as part of the VBS1 Mobile Training Console that Coalescent Technologies Corp. supplies to the U.S. Army National Guard.

The VBS1-based training consoles offer realistic battlefield simulations and the ability to operate diverse land, sea, and air vehicles across vast outdoor terrains. The computer-based training tool enables individuals or teams to plan, execute and review tactical operations and procedures in a realistic and customizable environment. Ideazon's custom keyboard technology is eliminating the need for military personnel to memorize key functions, thus saving valuable time during training simulations designed to simulate battlefield conditions.

"Using Ideazon's proprietary Key Command Unit with our VBS1 training consoles is saving precious time and allowing soldiers to focus more completely on learning from simulations before shipping out to combat zones," said Fred Bonilla, a project engineer at Coalescent Technologies Corp. of Orlando, Fla. "Instead of taking time to learn necessary keystrokes before being able to launch into simulations, military personnel are taking advantage of Ideazon's technology to maximize the benefits of simulation learning."

"When we developed the Zboard we never imagined that it would be used as an integral part of military training," said Chris Rathgeber, President of Ideazon Inc. "We're getting extremely positive feedback from the Army National Guard and we understand that they now want Ideazon's Key Command Unit technology included in every new VBS1 training console that it orders."

The Key Command Unit's unique design has clearly color-coded and English-labeled keys, specific to all VBS1 major input commands. They include:

  • 17 shooter and action commands labeled on keys;
  • "Butterfly" directional keys for maximum comfort;
  • Instant remapping capabilities.

To date, an undisclosed amount of U.S. Army National Guard personnel have been trained using the VBS1 in mobilization centers in the United States. For more information or to purchase the Zboard Key Command Unit go online to www.ctcorp.com
