I-play licenses World Pool Championship

Blade Interactive series headed to mobiles

I-play has signed a new deal with Blade Interactive and the International Professional Pool Players Association to bring a new series of games to mobile phones.

The World Pool Championship series has so far only appeared on consoles. The last instalment, WPC 2007, launched in March and now a mobile version is set to follow.

The game will feature eight top players, including Phil Harrison, Neil Raybone and Chris Melling, plus motion-capture animation and real tournaments such as the IPA World Championship.

"Cue sport games have been a major genre of mobile gaming for some years and our objective is to dominate this niche just as we have in the videogames market," said Blade Interactive's Peter Jones.

"Our entire focus is quality. To that end we are delighted with our new relationship with I-play which has exactly the same attitude to quality gaming."
