I-Play brings Crash Racing to North America

Cingular wireless carrying latest Crash Bandicoot title

I-play and Vivendi Universal Games announce the launch of Crash Racing for mobile phones, which will be available exclusively on the Cingular Wireless network in North America.

Based on the latest console title, Crash Tag Team Racing, the latest dedicated mobile phone game features a unique 'fusion' function, which allows gamers to create one of 12 possible vehicle combinations on the fly; adding turrets and additional weaponry to clear the path of obstacles and opponents.

The game will include four playable characters, each with their own unique vehicle, nine different races, two modes of play and three unique environments to explore and conquer.

VU Games chief strategy and marketing officer, Cindy Cook, commented: "VU Games is excited to deliver Crash Tag Team Racing to wireless, as the Crash franchise has been very well received with mobile gamers. Crash Racing mobile offers a fun and engaging interactive experience that will appeal to gamers of all ages."

"Crash has an appeal across many age demographics: kids, teenagers, adults, and both boys and girls, men and women. As one of the most popular characters in gaming today, we are proud and excited to team with VU Games to bring the third mobile game in the Crash series to fans," added Anders Evju, general manager- Americas, I-play.

I-Play holds the exclusive publishing rights for the game in North America. The title will be available throughout Europe and other worldwide territories through Paris-based mobile publisher, WonderPhone. In addition to the standard Java game, an enhanced 3D version will shortly be available for selected compatible handsets.
