Hurricane Wilma hits Austin Game Conference website

Austin Game Conference organiser The Game Initiative has announced that the onsite ticket prices for the event will be the same as the reduced online rate following server issues.

Austin Game Conference organiser The Game Initiative has announced that the onsite ticket prices for the event will be the same as the reduced online rate following server issues.

The problems arose after Hurricane Wilma passed through Fort Myers, Florida, where The Game Initiative's web and email servers are located. The servers are currently without power while attempts are made to restore the backup generator.

A temporary web log has been set up where attendees can check the conference schedule and register online. Because of the incident, onsite ticket prices will be the same as for those who pre-register online - USD 165 for professionals and USD 115 for students.

All events will go ahead as planned - the Women's Game Conference and Game Writer's Conference will take place on October 26-27, and the two-day Austin Game Conference will kick off on October 27.
