HMV shuffles exec pack

Steve Napleton appointed commercial director as Gary Warren moves across to the MAMA Group

HMV has announced two senior executive changes, with Steve Napleton appointed to the role of commercial director as the previous incumbent, Gary Warren, is promoted to MD of content and talent at the HMV-owned MAMA Group.

Napleton, who has been with the company since 2007, previously held the post of supply chain director and oversaw projects including the hmvtickets and hmvdigital sites - he will retain those duties as well as now taking responsibility for all areas of Product.

And Warren will now head up the promotion of shows across the MAMA venues, as well as overseeing management of artists including Franz Ferdinand and Kaiser Chiefs.

"Both these appointments are of strategic importance to HMV and potentially of significant value to our suppliers and their artists," said Simon Fox, group CEO. "In taking on this exciting new role at MAMA, Gary can play a key part in bringing our live and retail businesses more closely together, with all the benefits and synergies this will create.

"Similarly, in combining HMV Product with e-commerce and digital, Steve now has the opportunity to develop a powerful commercial platform within the business that will further support our multi-channel aspirations."
