Sarah Hughes joins UK retailer from Amazon to fill newly-expanded role

UK retailer HMV has announced that it has expanded its head of online role, and appointed Sarah Hughes to the position.

Hughes joins from Amazon where she was most recently head of DVD buying, with previous experience at retailers Entertainment UK and MVC.

She will take responsibility for a team of 15 online content and display staff, reporting in to marketing director Graham Sim.

"I learned much during my time at Amazon and thoroughly enjoyed the experience of working with such a talented and dedicated group of people," she commented. "However, the exciting opportunity presented by HMV to help further develop its online presence was one I felt I simply couldn't miss.

"I'm really looking forward to getting started and working with such a wonderful brand and with the great team they have there."
