Hired Guns: The Jagged Edge

Decide who's hired and who's fired, then send them into battle against an oppressive dictator.

Worms / Bracknell, 30th April 2009.

Kalypso Media have today released details of their forthcoming PC strategy game, Hired Guns: The Jagged Edge. Your mission, if you decide to take it, is to assemble a force of desperate mercenaries to take on a dangerous mission in a distant land. Hired Guns: The Jagged Edge is real-time & round-based strategy game fought on The Diamond Shores where your primary task is to overthrow an oppressive dictator. In order to succeed in your mission you will have command of a unit of 30 well-trained mercenaries and access to an arsenal of 150 different weapons. If your coup d’état is successful then a range of further objectives will become available. But be warned, you are not the only mercenary force on The Diamond Shores. You can either fight or join forces with the other mercenary groups, although treachery pays, and it may be to your advantage to swop sides to further your aims. After all there are no friends in war….

Once you have bought the services of your Hired Guns you can form one or more fighting squadrons before entering the field of combat. Initially you are limited to transporting your fighters by road, but if you can manage to overpower the government forces and capture the airport then your transport options increase, with access to helicopters allowing you to rapidly infiltrate your troops when required. Can you overthrow The Diamond Shores’ brutal dictatorship and succeed in your mission?
