Hip Interactive opens UK distribution arm

Canadian publisher Hip Interactive has opened a new office in the UK as part of its expansion throughout Europe. Hip Interactive UK Ltd will operate from the new London office and handle distribution for all Hip Games and Hip Gear (accessories) product lines.

This means it will be the UK's exclusive distributor for a number of big titles including Digital Extremes' Pariah and Blue 52's Stolen. Other games due out from Hip within the next few months include Garfield and products based on The Mummy, The Animated Series.

"The opening of this new office comes as confirmation of Hip's growing worldwide presence", said Arindra Singh, President and CEO of Hip. "This will allow us to maximize the potential of our Hip Games and Hip Gear lines in the United Kingdom and hence their global growth."

Earlier this week, Canadian parent Hip Interactive confirmed another element of its expansion - the purchase of Arizona-based Playboy: The Mansion developer, Arush Entertainment. "Arush's ability to source and license titles, along with management's strong industry relationships, will enable us to broaden Hip's North American publishing presence," Singh commented at the time.
