Highborn

iPhone strategy game gets an iOS4 update and a price cut to $0.99.

LAS VEGAS, NV – July 2, 2010 – Jet Set Games TM today released an update for Highborn, TM the critically and commercially successful strategy game for the iPhone and iPod Touch, that adds iOS4 compatibility, along with several new community-requested features. In addition, the company announced that in celebration of the July 4th holiday, Highborn is on sale for only $.99 from today through July 4th.

The game update, now live on the iTunes App Store for only $.99 at http://itunes.com/app/Highborn, includes the following features, fixes and enhancements:

iOS 4 compatibility The option to skip viewing enemy 3D combat The option to disable combat spell display if no spells are currently available Performance enhancements in Map Mode The ability to restart a mission from the mission select screen Updates to several spell effect and combat environment graphics The ability to load a checkpoint or restart a mission from within combat Fixes a lockup in Mission 4: “The Brass Chef,” that was affecting some users Fixes a crash bug that can happen when receiving a phone call or quitting combat

“This update for Highborn was all about addressing some of the feedback we’ve received from the community,” said Rade Stojsavljevic, president of Jet Set Games. “The players have been great about submitting suggestions to improve the game, and will continue to act on as much of it as we can. The game gets better with every update, and we encourage everyone to give it a try over the holiday weekend, especially now that it’s only $.99.”

Highborn is casual, turn-based strategy game with a twist, developed by a team of industry veterans, many of who created the original Command & Conquer products, including Rade Stojsavljevic, Adam Isgreen, Joseph B. Hewitt, IV, and Westwood Studios Co-Founder Brett W. Sperry.

In Highborn, players are treated to two strategy games that combine to offer an intelligent, tactical experience without the frenetic play of a traditional RTS. Players move forces around an overhead map to secure spells and combat support, then dive into 3D combat to deploy those advantages against an unsuspecting enemy. All the fun and fighting is set against an irreverent tale, filled with wacky heroes, witty dialogue and wild assumptions.

Features:

A Light Touch – Highborn is a casual mobile strategy game that offers a satisfying experience for players, no matter if they spend minutes or hours in the game. Time for a New Strategy – Highborn features a unique blend of strategic movement and 3D combat that caters to a variety of gameplay styles and offers a great deal of replayability. Multiplay at Your Pace – Turn-based gaming enables players to think, then act, when playing one-on-one against their Facebook friends, and allows them to have multiple games going at once. Many Styles of Play – Players unlock hero characters as they progress through the game, giving them access to different abilities and play styles, along with different strategies to use against their opponents.

Jet Set Games is planning to release additional single- and multi-player gameplay for Highborn in the form of in-app downloadable content. The company is also finalizing an iPad-specific version of Highborn for release later this summer, pricing to be announced.
