HandyGames™ celebrates its 5th anniversary

From Freelancers to CEO's of one of the major German game developers in the mobile entertainment business. Half decade full of surprises, progresses and successes.

Passionate game players, Christopher and Markus Kassulke, had already been well established with add-ons and cheats for PC-games when they, together with Udo Bausewein, decided to set up their own "dream factory" on April 20th in 2000. The breakthrough came shortly afterwards when Siemens preinstalled Stack Attack! and Balloon Shooter on their 45' s series.

Since then the rapidly growing company has been cooperating closely with leading mobile phone manufacturers and operators. HandyGamesTM is recognised for its high-quality games and applications.

The international success of the past years can not only be attributed to the current portfolio of 38 exciting java and 35 WAP games. After an extensive testing stage, new releases are converted to more than 40 handsets and translated into five different languages so that customers world-wide can immerse themselves easily and without complications with HandyGamesTM products.

Markus Kassulke, CEO of HandyGamesTM: "The last five years have past quickly. I owe much to my team. Without their commitment we would not have been able to assert ourselves and achieve our reputation on the market. Therefore we want to thank our fantastic team with an anniversary bonus. We are one of the last independent developers in Europe and we look optimistically and confidently to the future. We will continue expanding and opening new markets and furthermore, we think of creating our own publishing unit before 2006".

Plans are to considerably increase the team of 40 employees by the end of the year, even against the general trend; a sales increase by 60 per cent is expected for the current fiscal year. Taking into account the current bleak economic situation and widespread discussions about outsourcing, the prospering company is a good example for quality and innovation "Made in Germany".
