Halo 5's first week 50 per cent bigger than Assassin's Creed's

Also outsold Master Chief Collection in the UK by the same margin

Halo 5: Guardians sold 50 per cent more in its first week on sale in the UK than Assassin's Creed: Syndicate, according to data from Ukie and Gfk Chart-Track.

That is a victory of sorts for Microsoft, but it should be noted that Syndicate sold less in its first week than any other Assassin's Creed console game. Halo 5 also outsold last year's Master Chief Collection by the same proportion.

2K's WWE 2K16 entered the UK chart in fourth place, eclipsing 2K15's sales by three to one. Telltale's Minecraft: Story Mode took the final place in the top five.

And after a brief moment of hope, the tentative resurgence of music games was dealt another painful blow. Activision's Guitar Hero Live dropped out of the top ten after charting in second place on its first week. Rock Band 4 met a similar fate, disappearing from the charts upper reaches after a single week.
