Half of Netflix users connecting through console

50 per cent use Wii, Xbox or PS3 to watch TV and movies

New figures show that 50 per cent of Netflix users were accessing the US video on demand service via PS3, Xbox Live or Wii.

42 per cent of Netflix users accessed content directly from their computers.

The study by Nielsen surveyed 12,000 Netflix and Hulu users and also found that 53 per cent of Netflix watched more movies than television, while 73 per cent of Hulu users primarily watched TV shows.

Earlier this month Nintendo revealed that 1.5 million Wii owners were accessing the Netflix service on a daily basis.
