Hadi raises $5m in funding to create casual mobile games

Istanbul-based studio made up of former Gram Games employees has several projects in the works

Turkish mobile studio Hadi has raised $5.2 million in a round of seed funding to fuel its development of casual games for mobile.

The round was led by Griffin Gaming Partners, with additional investment from angel investors, including Tripledot co-founder Akin Babayigit, as reported by VentureBeat.

Hadi was co-founded by CEO Mark Muller, former creative director at Gram Games, the mobile studio behind Merge Dragons. The Istanbul-based team is also staffed by several other ex-Gram employees.

The studio is currently working on several unannounced titles.

"Having seen the industry grow over the last decade, especially in Turkey, we are excited to contribute to the growth and evolution of mobile gaming," said Muller. "The relationships and experience our benefactors bring are just as valuable to us as any financial bottom line."

Griffin Gaming Partners managing director Phil Sanderson added: "Turkey is a key geographic focus for Griffin, and the Hadi team has ideal experience and drive in the mobile gaming market to succeed."
