Golden Joystick Awards demolish voting records

The UK's only gamer awards to be broadcast live online!

23/10/06 - Future, the UK's leading publisher of games magazines and websites, is delighted to announce that over half a million UK gamers voted for this year's Golden Joystick Awards - smashing all previous records!

Now in its 24th year as the UK's only awards voted for solely by gamers - more than 500,000 people came forward to have their say. The 16 award categories will be exclusively announced this Friday, October 27th, in a glittering ceremony at the Park Lane Hilton, London.

For the first-time ever, you can watch the Golden Joystick Awards live and uncensored at the home of the event, Computer and Video Games Online - www.cvg.co.uk.

With TV's hairiest Bristolian, Justin Lee-Collins hosting the bash, many of the categories went right up to the wire. At the close of voting, four games were still in with a shout for "Ultimate Game of the Year" making it one of the closest years in the history of the event.

See the action as it unfolds and cross your fingers that our borrowed satellite truck works. Question the taste of your fellow gamers, and celebrate or commiserate with the industry's finest, exclusively from 2.15pm.

The full awards ceremony will be broadcast LIVE and UNCENSORED at Computer and Video Games Online - www.cvg.co.uk.
