Glu partners with Warner Bros.

Secures worldwide rights to film games

Glu Mobile has announced a worldwide partnership with Warner Bros. Digital Distribution.

Glu CEO Greg Ballard said the deal was multi-year, and would "reinforce Glu's position as a leading independent publisher of mobile entertainment".

Under the terms of the agreement, Glu may develop, market and distribute mobile games based on new film releases, including those based on cartoon brands from DC Comics, Looney Tunes and Hanna-Barbera.

Meanwhile, a separate agreement, also with Warner Bros., puts Glu in a position to distribute selected mobile games this year in North and South America, including Ocean's Thirteen and 300.

Maria Seidman, vice president of sales development at Warner Bros. Digital Distribution, paid tribute to Glu's "ability to create the highest quality games and make them available to a broad audience of mobile consumers worldwide".

"We're excited to partner with Glu and benefit from their expertise in the mobile space," Seidman added.

It's the second announcement in a busy week for Glu, which announced yesterday that it had sewn up the rights to Activision's lucrative Call of Duty war-game series.
