Get-Well Gamers Foundation Announces Dramatically Expanded Network
Nine Hospitals Added in Past Six Weeks Alone; 25% Increase since Last Year, Bringing Total to 41 Care Facilities in 26 States
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Public and Private Donors Urged to Answer the Call This Holiday Season
Huntington Beach, CA, October 11, 2006-The Get-Well Gamers Foundation, a California-based public charity dedicated to bringing electronic entertainment to children in healthcare facilities, today announced that its network has dramatically expanded to 41 hospitals in 26 states; a 25% increase in capacity since last year owing to the success of recent campaigns with corporate partners, in addition to the efforts of private individuals stepping forward to support the cause.
"We are amazed at the incredible enthusiasm everyone has shown toward us in the past year in particular," said Ryan Sharpe, President of The Get-Well Gamers Foundation. "They have really brought out mission to a whole new level; far beyond even our own wildest expectations. We can't thank them enough for their wonderful dedication and we applaud the forward-thinking administrations of our new member institutions who realize the importance of the work we do."
In the past six weeks alone, the following nine hospitals have been added to the Get-Well Gamers network:
St. Francis Children's Hospital, Oklahoma
North Memorial Medical Center, Minnesota
Roosevelt Children's Hospital, New York
Doernbecher Children's Hospital, Oregon
Arkansas Children's Hospital, Arkansas
Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters, Virginia
Driscoll Children's Hospital, Texas
Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Backus Children's Hospital, Georgia
"Our next step," added Sharpe, "is to see to it that we have the product donations to support our new increased capacity. At the moment, we have nowhere near what is required, but given our track record of success, we are confident that someone will answer the call. With the holidays fast approaching, however, it is crucial that we receive donations as soon as possible."
The Get-Well Gamers Foundation accepts age-appropriate console and hand-held systems as well as the games supported by these platforms. To make a tax-deductible donation or to recommend a treatment facility, visit www.get-well-gamers.org.
