geoSpark

Neon-hued arcade game from the geoDefense chaps launched on the App Store.

ST. LOUIS and WASHINGTON - Dec. 4, 2009

Critical Thought Games and Imangi Studios today announced that geoSpark, the electrifying new iPhone game collaboration from the leading independent development studios, is now available for purchase in the App Store.

In geoSpark, an assortment of colorful neon ‘Sparks’ fly across the iPhone or iPod Touch screen, and players are tasked with preventing any two different Sparks from colliding. Similar Sparks must be chained together by dragging them across the screen – the more Sparks eliminated in one swipe, the more points awarded.

But as the chain gets longer, a player’s finger become a gravity well, drawing all nearby Sparks inwards and creating some potentially dangerous situations. As players hone their geoSpark skills, they’ll find bonus Sparks with special powers, like multiplying their score or instantly destroying every Spark on the screen. Once they learn the ropes, they can brag about their latest high score on Twitter or Facebook via OpenFeint integration.

“There’s something magnetically appealing about the visuals of geoDefense, and my penchant for creating super-hard strategy titles certainly appeals to the hardcore gaming audience,” said David Whatley of Critical Thought Games, developer of the geoDefense series. “Working together with Imangi has produced something that I think anyone who owns an iPhone or iPod Touch will be able to pick up and immediately love. By our powers combined!”

“Only the iPhone development community could produce something as special as geoSpark,” said Natalia Luckyanova of Imangi Studios. “We’ve combined the casual, pick-up-and-play DNA of Imangi Games like Harbor Master with the style and spectacle of David Whatley’s games, and it’s something to behold. We hope iPhone owners out there love it as much as we do!”

geoSpark is available on the App Store for $.99. To download it, visit: http://bit.ly/7dRqrh
