GDC Europe 2009

1,600 participants registered for next week's developer get-together in Cologne.

Berlin, — August 13, 2009 — Even before its premier the Games Developers® Conference Europe (GDC Europe) can boast with impressive numbers. Over 1.600 participants have yet registered for Europe’s most important games developers conference given the outstanding program of the GDC Europe: Over 130 speakers and more than 40 exhibiting companies from more than 35 nations turn this event to Europe’s developers highlight addressing developers, managers and producers from all over the world.

The media, too, feels confident that the GDC Europe kicks off as one of the most important events this year. More than 240 media representatives have yet been accredited for the developers conference in the Cologne Congress Centrum East on the fairgrounds in Cologne from August 17 to 19, further accreditation requests are under way.

Five keynotes from European key companies such as Quantic Dream, Remedy, CCP, Gameforge or Crytek mark the highlights for the participants. Further speakers represent companies with names as illustrious as Bioware, Blitz Games, Capcom, Exozet, Foundation 9, Microsoft, Replay Studios, Streamline Studios, Ubisoft, Zootfly and Zynga – in a nutshell, the industry’s world elite.

In an effort to guarantee this standard of high quality, numerous companies from the industry are supporting the GDC Europe this year. Industry leaders like Crytek, Autodesk, Bigpoint, Intel or Gameforge help creating an appropriate framework. In the showroom area, open on August 17 and 18, companies such as Enzyme Labs, Firelight, Crytek, Hansoft, Intel or Xtend present their latest products and developments. Communication areas provide room for professional talk or exchange on new business opportunities.
