Gaming world gears up for E3 Expo

LA Convention Center poised to play host to world's most influential trade show

The LA Convention Center is ready to open its doors to the videogames business this week as the E3 Expo looks set for a much-needed return to form.

Widely expected to bring some of the punch back to an event which has lacked any real sense of occasion in the past couple of years, the show will feature the majority of the main games publishers showcasing forthcoming titles and announcing new games.

As ever, the platform holder press conferences will provide the bulk of the news headlines this week, with Microsoft kicking off proceedings in its stage show at 6:30pm BST (10:30am PST / 7:30pm CET) today.

Sony and Nintendo will follow with their conferences at 5pm BST (9am PST / 6pm CET) and 7pm BST (11am PST / 8pm CET) respectively tomorrow, although some of Sony's announcements have already leaked.

The main third party publishers will also hold press conferences, with EA's taking place today at 10pm BST (2pm PST / 11pm CET), followed by Ubisoft's at 1am BST tomorrow (5pm today PST / 2am CET tomorrow).

Activision, returning to E3 following its absence last year, already hosted its own webcast conference yesterday, while the Blizzard half of the company is skipping the event altogether.

All of the E3-related news and features published by GamesIndustry.biz will be collected on a special E3 event page, and we'll aggregate the main headlines and talking points in a sticky feature on the front page of the site.
