Gaming news site Andriasang shuts down

Content will stay online, but founder moving on

Updates for English-language Japanese games news site Andriasang will cease.

"I've decided to take up a new opportunity that will hopefully keep me really busy, so I will be ceasing daily updates," revealed founder Anoop Gantayat this morning.

"I may do some database-driven stuff and technology tests," he explained, "but I won't be doing articles or updates. The site's archive and comments will remain in place, so you can still consult old content."

The site launched in 2008 and today has well over 14,000 articles covering 25,000 games, people and companies.

Gantayat, a former IGN.com correspondent, did not reveal what the new opportunity might be.
