Matt Cundy becomes actual, proper editor.

2/12/10 - Future, the special-interest media group, has announced the appointment of Matt Cundy as UK Editor of GamesRadar ( www.gamesradar.com). Stepping up from Acting Editor to replace George Walter, Matt will be tasked with further broadening the reach of the site, in tandem with the GamesRadar US team.

Matt has worked in the games industry for 15 years and is a former editor of magazines including Pokemon Masters and The Simpsons Comic. Joining Future in 2002, he took a central role in GamesRadar‘s 2005 relaunch and helped to establish it as one of the world’s best games entertainment sites. The GamesRadar style is unique, provocative and proudly off-centre, making it the first stop for savvy, engaged gamers.

Matt Cundy says: “The team in the UK is unbelievably talented and already creates the kind of innovative, engaging and entertaining articles that resonate with an audience which is passionate about games and gaming culture. It'll be my job to expand the reach of GamesRadar UK's creative output. I'll be exploring new areas of original content that further highlights the team's personality, and helps grow our already healthy community even further.”

Mark Cantwell, Associate Publisher of GamesRadar, added: "GamesRadar has always been more than a simple previews and reviews site: it deals with the lifestyle of gaming and exists to make gaming more fun. We focus entertaining content that stimulates debate. GamesRadar is where true gamers come to play, and I‘m confident that Matt will remain true to that ethos. Matt and his team are part of their audience and so know them better than anyone.”

Future is an industry-leading games media owner. The company is no. 1 for games magazines globally and every month attracts more than nine million visitors to its games websites.
