Gamescom Asia's consumer exhibition goes digital

The event also said that this year's business show will remain as both in-person and virtual

Gamescom Asia organizers have announced that the consumer side of this year's event will shift to a digital only showcase.

The exhibition will include two virtual shows and a Steam event page.

It was said that the decision was made after organizers received feedback from industry players and consultation from stakeholders.

"We apologize to the fans who have been waiting to celebrate and interact offline with each other and their favorite games at the festival, and welcome them to join us for a borderless online experience this year," the organizers said.

Gamescom Asia's business showcase will remain as an in-person and online event.

The show is scheduled to take place during October 20 to October 22 in Singapore at the Suntec Convention and Exhibition Center.

The virtual showcase will run from October 19 to October 22.
