Games Invest 2010

Early bird rates still available for next month's London event, even if you're a bit late.

PRESS RELEASE: 1st September 2010

UK games developers interested in attracting games investment only have until Monday 6th September to buy a special Early Bird ticket to Games Invest 2010 event at the Eurogamer Expo on October 1st in London. A reduced ticket price of £35 (full price £50) has been extended until midnight on Monday – hit the link for details: http://gamesinvest2010.eventbrite.com/

Screen Yorkshire and Game Republic’s Games Invest 2010 is an opportunity for small-to-medium-sized games companies in the UK to find out more about games investment, and also have an opportunity to network and pitch informally and formally to investors.

Every ticket purchase for Games Invest 2010 includes a morning of sessions presented by investors, a networking lunch, full access to the Eurogamer Expo and gamesindustry.biz Career Fair, plus an application form for games companies to apply for meetings with investors. Investors taking part in the pitching process will view all games company applications before the event and use this information to arrange formal half-hour afternoon meetings with chosen companies in private rooms on October 1st.

Games Invest 2010 has a skew towards project investment, although equity investment will also feature in the event. The line-up of investors attending already includes Tenshi Ventures, Pembridge and 4iP, with talks featuring London Venture Partners - the new investment group formed by industry heavyweights Phil Harrison, David Lau-Kee, David Gardner and Paul Heydon – plus Paul Durrant from the University of Abertay, who will discuss the new government-backed £2m fund for games prototypes.

Games Invest 2010 is not included as part of the regular Eurogamer Expo ticket – if you’d like to attend, tickets are on-sale now for a special Early Bird rate of £35 (full price £50) until September 6th.
