Gamer.tv Streams Into New Zealand

GAMER.TV SUPPLIES 3G MOBILE VIDEO CONTENT TO TELECOM NEW ZEALAND

London 11 April 2005: Gamer.tv has signed an agreement with Telecom New Zealand to supply video game reviews, previews and features for access by Telecom's T3G customers.

The video game reviews and previews are approximately three minutes in duration and are a concise assessment of a new video games title, allowing viewers to determine if a game is a must-buy or should be avoided at all costs. The videos are updated regularly to provide up to date information on all the latest video games and are presented in an accessible and entertaining style that appeals to gamers and non-gamers alike.

Telecom's T3G customers can access and select the Video Clip they want to watch from a menu on their phone. They will be able to watch Video Clips for free until the end of May 2005. After this, Video Clips will cost 99 cents each time a clip is streamed to the phone.

'Video games are the fastest growing entertainment industry and these video clips are the most compelling way for people interested in video games to keep themselves informed and entertained, wherever they are.' said Barn Cleave, Business Development Manager, Gamer.tv. 'We are sure that the enormous popularity of the video clips in UK and Australia will be repeated in New Zealand'.

Telecom Mobile General Manager Kevin Kenrick said Telecom was excited about working with Gamer.tv to develop the Video Clips range.

"We've worked hard to provide content that New Zealanders will want to watch - be it the national news, sport highlights or the latest music videos. Our partnership with Gamer.tv will expand our offering even further, ensuring there's something for everyone on T3G," said Mr Kenrick.

Video Clips have been made possible by Telecom's new high-speed T3G mobile service, which enables mobile phones to play the clips as they're being streamed. This means the clips don't take up any storage space on the phone.
