GameRiot festival to return for fourth year running

US-based entertainment company Games Media Properties has announced that this year's fourth annual GameRiot event will kick off in Las Vegas on March 26.

Billed as "the world's largest travelling video game festival", GameRiot will give gamers across the US the chance to play a total of 30 brand new and pre-release titles. They'll also be able to compete for cash prizes and test their skills against professional gamers.

GameRiot will visit eight different cities across the country, stopping off at music festivals Extreme Thing and Sunfest as well as Hot Import Nights, described by Games Media as "one of the fastest-growing lifestyle events in the country."

This year's GameRiot titles are set to include Midway's Unreal Championship 2, Vivendi's FlatOut, and Star Wars Republic Commando from LucasArts. THQ will be showing off Juiced while Ubisoft are offering Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Chaos Theory.

"GameRiot has proven to be a tremendous success thanks to the dedication of gamers everywhere," said Games Media president Matthew Ringel. "We are thrilled about working with Hot Import Nights, Extreme Thing and Sunfest this spring as these events draw large crowds of gamers and provide an entertainment setting that perfectly complements the high-adrenaline environment of GameRiot."
