Thursday, November 25---Fort Lauderdale, FL---GameRecruiter announced today that vice president of marketing Fiona Cherbak will be a featured speaker at next week's Breaking In: The Games Conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Breaking In: The Games Conference will be held on Saturday, November 3 and Sunday, November 4, located at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. The event will coincide with the America's VideoGame Expo (VGXPO), a three-day videogame convention.
Cherbak, a recognized specialist in game industry careers who has worked with leading games companies,, will be speaking on the panel, "Breaking into the Game Industry." Moderated by Sam Christopher Erhardt, Vice President of Production and Professor at Digipen Institute of Technology, this discussion will offer tips and tricks from working veterans in the game industry on how to get into the business or transition from one development community to another.
Cherbak will also moderate the "Tales from the Trenches: Women Who Know" panel, presented by Women in Games International (WIGI). Female professionals in the games industry provide personal testimonials on their experiences and triumphs, from getting that first job to learning to be a leader. In this lively discussion, these women describe what it took for them to get in the door, establish winning business strategies and partnerships and build a lasting career in games.

Cherbak states, "It is increasingly important to encourage our youth and others who are seeking direction and advice on how to develop their game career paths. I feel it is part of my responsibility to provide career guidance to up-and-coming game developers. Shaping promising careers is part of the equation when advancing the game industry's talent pool. This is an investment of time and expertise that GameRecruiter is always willing to make."
Cherbak will be joined at the Breaking In: The Games Conference by other games industry veterans such as Craig Davison, Director of Global Marketing for Microsoft Game Studios; Thad Sasser, Game Designer for Ubisoft's Redstorm Entertainment; Wade Tinney, President of Large Animal Games; Tommy Tallarico, Founder of Video Games Live; and Dale Jackson, Executive Producer for EA Tiburon.
Prior to joining GameRecruiter, Cherbak developed global marketing strategies and campaigns for games industry organizations and companies. America's VideoGame Expo is three days of videogame revelry. Our convention is an annual gaming destination - where gamers and industry insiders can come together to celebrate videogames. Attendees come to VGXPO to experience the newest games, encounter game industry legends, compete in tournaments, buy games and meet with friends. To expand America's VideoGame Expo, in both floor space and attendance, the expo has moved to the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
