Multiple license acquired by Longtail Studios, the first game of which will be Dance on Broadway for the Wii.

Calabasas, CA and New York, NY- June 10, 2010 – Longtail Studios and Emergent Game Technologies announced today a multiple game licensing deal to use Emergent’s groundbreaking development engine, Gamebryo LightSpeed. The first game to be developed and published under this agreement is Dance on Broadway for Wii TM which is launching in North America on June 15, 2010. The other in-development titles have not yet been announced but are planned for multiple console platforms.

Published by Ubisoft, Dance on Broadway brings all the richness and fun of the most beloved musicals directly to fans’ living rooms, allowing up to four people to live out their Broadway dreams working through choreographed routines for some of Broadway's top tunes, from “Fame” to “Time Warp” from Rocky Horror Picture Show.

“We are a diverse developer, continually working on different platforms and genres of gameplay. We need an engine that is versatile and flexible to meet our evolving needs and Emergent provides that with Gamebryo and LightSpeed,” said Sandeep Bisla, Technical Director, Longtail Studios. “We upgraded to LightSpeed mid project and it was a great choice, helping us quickly achieve our goals. Its upgraded features helped us speed up production further and allowed us to focus more on the game, rather than building engine-related components we needed for the game.”

Bisla continued, “Emergent takes support and documentation seriously and they have a great reputation for providing fast and competent support. They didn’t let us down and the development team was always impressed by the turn around and quality of support they received.”

“We’ve enjoyed a great partnership with Longtail Studios from the beginning of this project,” said Tim Page, Director of Sales, Emergent Game Technologies. “At Emergent we always go the extra mile for our customers – from one-on-one or onsite training, to publisher introductions, to being available by phone, providing licensing deals that fit any budget – we really make an all out effort to make sure in these licensing relationships that both the project and the studio thrive. We look forward to working with Longtail for a long time to come.”
