GAME reveals most popular pre-orders for Christmas

UK retailer GAME has listed the top five titles being pre-ordered at its stores by Christmas shoppers - confirming that Electronic Arts is set to have a bumper festive season once again.

FIFA '07 may be topping the Chart-Track all-formats top ten, but at GAME Need for Speed: Carbon pushing the football title into second place.

The third most popular pre-order is WWE Smackdown! VS. RAW 07, followed by Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer 6. At number five, it's Xbox 360 exclusive Gears of War - which recently won the title of the fastest-selling next-gen game so far.

In a statement, GAME said it's anticipating a last minute rush of shoppers as Christmas draws nearer - quoting research by Mintel which shows that 40 per cent of British consumers left their present buying till late last year.
